Frequently Asked Questions
Q. Why should I give online?
It's a personal preference, but here are a few of the benefits we hear frequently:
• It's a step of faith...deciding in advance to give faithfully.
• It helps simplify life.
• It allows you to give consistently...even when you're not at church.
• It allows you to focus on the service when you're at church.
Q. How do I do it?
Click on the “Click Here to Give Online” link.
- Create an account. [If you already have an account, go to step 3.] Click “Create An Account”
- If you’re not logged in, you’ll be prompted to log in first.
- Complete the fields in the window to set up a one-time gift or ongoing schedule.
Q. Nothing happens when I click ‘Give Online’. What’s wrong?
If you are using a pop-up blocker like Google Toolbar, Norton Internet Security or Pop-Up Stopper, the window can’t open. Most browsers also have an internal popup blocker that can be enabled or disabled. In order to use interactive features (like online giving and event registration) you will need to allow pop-ups.
Q. Can I give online to either the Imagine Campaign or Shoreline South?
Yep. Select the name of the appropriate fund (Building) and then the appropriate campaign name in the Sub Fund (Imagine). Note: You’ll need to set up two different schedules to give to both the General Fund and the Building Campaign online.
Q. When is the automatic contribution charged to my account?
Specify if you want your contribution made one time, weekly, every other week (bi-weekly), twice per month (on the 1st and the 15th), monthly, quarterly or yearly. You can set up as many schedules as you would like, so it’s possible to give a monthly gift as well as a weekly one. Select a date other than today’s date for the contribution to process or the schedule to begin.
Q. Can I just try this by giving one time?
Sure. Select “One Time” in the frequency drop-down box. Also, choose a date other than today’s date for the contribution to process.
Q. What fields are required?
All fields with an * are required. The contribution will not process unless all required fields have been properly completed.
Q. How can see my giving record?
At any time, you can view your online giving record from the online giving pop-up window. Scroll to the
bottom of the window to see your giving history for the current year. There’s also a drop-down menu that allows you to view giving from previous years. Press Ctrl+P to print the window. We also send year-end statements directly to your home address.
Q. How do I participate in the weekly offering if my contribution is automatically processed online?
You can still participate in the offering during the service by reflecting on the message that is being presented.
Q. What if I want to change my online giving or stop it?
From the online giving window, scroll down to the contribution schedule. Select the green edit button to make a change or select the blue button to delete.
Q. Can I use my debit card or credit card?
Yes.
Q. Can I use an electronic check?
Yes.
